Step-by-Step Graphics
This design industry publication has an
annual issue that explores and recognizes the design process in numerous
areas of the profession. When DBD was commissioned to develop this special
issue's cover, the challenge was to take the simplify the design process
into one cohesive image that told -- or appeared to tell -- the entire story.
This was the first commercially published
use of our mascot: The DBD Man (based on the 1920's Arrow Shirt). On the
left, you have all the elements incoming for a project: information, market
studies, objectives, positioning issues, etc. and outflowing is his simple
vision -- solution -- aligning of all these random bits of data.
The response? According to the editor,
the calls just kept coming in from readers across the nation applauding
this cover's "solution". |
